Concentration Area

The Postgraduate Program in Nursing/Academic Masters (PPGENF/UNIRIO) has the Concentration Area (CA) “Nursing, Health, and Care in Society”. The thematic centers that integrate this unique PPGENF concentration area have full adherence to the Nursing Area, because of the dialogue with the knowledge production and professional practice. This integration construes the Nursing consolidation as social practice and its advancement as science under construction, in a plural society with complex demands for Health and Care. The caring locus takes place in the macro-micro-framework sense in the health field, being expressed in individual and collective dimensions, including the production of light, light-hard, and hard technologies, and information, from the risks tracking to meet the needed demands for the quality of life of/in society.

The area has two Research Lines: "Nursing: Knowledge and Practices of Caring and Being Care" and "Health, History, and Culture: Knowledge in Nursing”. Both have projects articulated to Research Groups, with the understanding that some groups are transversal, which enables the weaving knowledge construction produced by the PPGENF, firm and flexible, through the approaches and methods adopted, in a plural sense and without losing sight of the program's mission, purpose, and objectives.
