PPGAN SCHOLARSHIP DISTRIBUTION CRITERIA

Set forth by the PPGAN Committee at a Committee meeting held on October 21, 2015, amendments approved at a Committee meeting held on January 26, 2018

I - The scholarship made available to the PPGAN, both for the master's and Ph.D. courses, will be given priority to the first 2 places in each class of the course. For these to be indicated, they must comply with the following items:

 A – Not having completed any PPGAN course, that is, not having been evaluated during the course.

 B – The grade awarded for the course subject, consequently, will provide the calculation of CR and the student will be competing for the scholarship according to the 2nd criterion set forth on these rules;

C -    are not in the 4th academic semester of the master's course (maximum period for the defense of the dissertation according to the rules established in the PPGAN regulation (§1, article 32, title IV); in the 8th academic semester of the Ph.D. course (maximum period for the defense of the dissertation according to the rules established in the PPGAN regulation (§1, article 33, title IV);

II -     As a classification criterion, for the vacancies mentioned in item 1, a grade obtained in the selection process will be used. For the other scholarships, a weighted average will be calculated considering the grade obtained in the selection process (PS) and CR. The weighted average to be used is: [(PS x 1) + (CR x 2)] /3, the result will be expressed to 2 decimal places. A scholarship will only be made available to students who do not have a CR, that is, attending the 1st period of the course and without any course subjects’ grade having been released, after the other PPGAN students have been awarded a scholarship, in this case it will only be used the selection process.

III - To tie-breaking the criterion of longest seniority in the program will be applied.

IV - The scholarship committee will nominate the candidates and in agreement with article 11, title XII of the PPGAN regulation, the PPGAN committee will approve the indication.
