Permanent teacher, visitor and collaborator
PERMANENT TEACHER, VISITOR AND COLLABORATOR

For accreditation:
Permanent Teacher:
The accreditation of the permanent faculty of PPGAN will be carried out through a specific public notice and the evaluation will be carried out by a Commission of 3 (three) to 5 (five) members (according to the PPGAN regulation), following the criteria below that will be evaluated in the current year and / or at most in the previous 4 (four) years or according to the CAPES evaluation period:
a) Possess a Ph.D. degree;
b) Have an employment relationship, with dedication of 40 (forty) hours or exclusively, with academic units or supplementary bodies of UNIRIO or other Higher Education or Research Institutions;
c) Have a scientific profile that is compatible with at least one PPGAN Research Line;
d) To be supervising or having supervised Masters/PhD students, or to have completed scientific initiation/TCC supervision or Master/PhD co-supervision;
e) Have produced at least 15 (fifteen) scientific articles in indexed journals, with at least 10 scientific articles classified in QUALIS A CAPES, also meeting a minimum score, considering the current evaluation form for the area and established in the accreditation notice.
- Co-authored scientific articles will only be scored for one candidate. If there is more than one author candidate for accreditation, interested parties can indicate the recipient with the score. If interested parties do not nominate, the commission will define criteria for nomination.
- Articles that have already been scored for PPGAN teachers in the re-accreditation in the current quadrennium will not be considered.
f) The PPGAN committee may establish a priority area of specific knowledge within one of the Program's Research Lines.
It is desirable for the teacher to participate in a maximum of two PPGs, in accordance with the postgraduate general school statutes Stricto sensu from UNIRIO.
Visiting Teacher:
Accreditation as a visiting teacher at PPGAN will be carried out through a simplified selection process and the evaluation will be carried out in accordance with what is established for each public notice, meeting at least the criteria below:
a) Possess a Ph.D. degree.
b) When having a functional relationship with other institutions, the candidate must be released from their activities for a continuous period of time and present a dedication regime of 40 (forty) hours with the PPGAN;
c) The performance as a visiting teacher must be made possible by a fixed-term employment contract with UNIRIO or by a scholarship granted for this purpose;
d) Have a scientific production profile that is compatible with at least one PPGAN Research Line.
Collaborating teacher:
Members of the program's faculty who do not meet the requirements to be classified as permanent or visiting faculty may integrate the PPGAN faculty in the category of collaborators, including postdoctoral fellows, but who systematically participate in the development of research projects, teaching activities, extension activities or student guidance, regardless of whether or not they have a link to the institution.
To be accredited as a PPGAN collaborating teacher, the teacher must meet minimally to the criteria below, which will be evaluated by a Committee of 3 (three) to 5 (five) members (according to the PPGAN regulation), considering the CAPES evaluation period:
a) Possess a Ph.D. degree;
b) Have an institutional link with UNIRIO or with other Higher Education or Research Institutions;
c) Have a scientific profile that is compatible with at least one PPGAN Research Line;
d) Have scientific production of 5 (five) scientific articles; in indexed journals, classified in QUALIS A CAPES; also meeting a minimum score, considering the current evaluation form for the area and established by the committee.
- The articles must be compatible with the PPGAN's area of concentration and its lines of research.
e) After the CAPES evaluation period, the teacher who does not meet the criteria for re-accreditation in the PPGAN as permanent, will not be able to remain as a collaborator and will be disqualified from the PPGAN.
For re-accreditation:
Re-accreditation as a permanent teacher at PPGAN will be carried out through an evaluation made by a Committee of 3 (three) to 5 (five) members (according to the PPGAN regulation) following, at least, the criteria below in the period compatible with the CAPES assessment:
a) Have scientific production with PPGAN student(s) of 5 (five) scientific articles; in indexed journals, classified in QUALIS A CAPES; also meeting a minimum score, considering the current evaluation form for the area and established by the committee.
- Scientific articles with the participation of more than one PPGAN teacher will only be scored for 1 (one) teacher. The author teachers must formally indicate to the coordination the recipient with the score.
- The articles must be compatible with the PPGAN's area of concentration and its lines of research.
b) Have offered, in two academic semesters, subject(s) of the PPGAN curricular structure;
- Disciplines that include a lecture cycle, thesis/dissertation defense, article writing, dissertation/thesis writing, teaching internship, qualification exam, student exchange, principles of food science and technology and special topics will not be counted.
c) Have 2 orientations, at least one of which has been completed, from PPGAN student(s);
d) Have participated in the proposing team of 25% of the projects where PPGAN has competed institutionally;
e) Have competed as a bidder for 3 calls for funding.
f) Have participated in 2 committees and/or committees involving PPGAN activities. Thesis, dissertation and/or qualification defense committees will not be counted;
g) Have participated in 50% of the meetings of the PPGAN Committee;
It is desirable for the teacher to participate in a maximum of two PPGs, in accordance with the postgraduate general school statutes Stricto sensu from UNIRIO.
