PPGENF's strategic planning is in line with the strategic objectives and initiatives including in the UNIRIO’s Institutional Development Plan, being carried out based on the auto-evaluation processes results, that are defined to achieve better production indicators, qualified training, and improving internationalization, social impact, and the program visibility.

Concerning the above, PPGENF has supported scientific work, mainly investing in professors, students, and postgraduates' motivation and monitoring for intellectual production qualification and dissemination. Scientific events have been promoted to strengthen the integration among undergraduate and graduate degrees and external partnerships, which has favored the program's visibility and social impact.

PPGENF has been seeking to elevate social impact, mainly through activities that strengthen the integration between undergraduate and graduate studies and reach society in an innovative way. Investments have also been made to improve the publication and access to information related to PPGENF's processes and production through its page and social networks.

PPGENF has been seeking to strengthen its two research lines by raising funding in public notices. This results in investments in internal partnerships between research groups and inter-institutional, adding efforts to internationalization, as well as monitoring the dissertation thesis’s quality and adequacy.
