Student Profile

We seek the formation of a professional attentive to local, regional, national and international demands aimed at understanding themes associated with the area of Food and Nutrition, but also capable of producing scientific, social and technological knowledge, by valuing innovative research practices. We seek, therefore, to contribute to the production of knowledge that meets the challenges of the agricultural and industrial sectors, whether by carrying out applied research, production management and the generation of technologies and innovation, from the application of modern analytical techniques or by prioritizing of bioprocesses and the promotion of a safe, healthy and sustainable diet.  PPGAN graduates have different skills that allow them to work extensively in the field of Food Science, such as Science and Technology, Technology, Food Engineering, Biotechnology, Food and Nutrition, Gastronomy and the like, through research, teaching, development, production, storage and quality control of food and biomaterials such as packaging; in inspection bodies, in industries and in food units. This performance, whether in the public or private sector, teaching or industry, involves the production, interpretation, evaluation and issuance of reports, reports and opinions with full responsibility for the analysis of food, nutraceuticals, food supplements and the like. More specifically, it is noteworthy that the PPGAN prepares students in two different lines of research that, through thematic projects, enable graduates to work in important areas, whether in the productive and technological sector, such as the use, treatment and recovery of waste. and agroindustry by-products, development of functional foods, or even to act in scientific development using as a base knowledge in modern techniques of biotechnology, cell biology or analytical, such as chromatography and mass spectrometry.
