HEALTH EDUCATION CORE (NES)

The Health Education Center (NES) has as its object of study the food, nutrition, health, education, communication and the human experiences and relationships established in the context of these themes. Because they are complex objects that unfold into transdisciplinary, intersectoral and multiprofessional practices, the existence of this Center can contribute to reflection and action within the university and other institutions or social groups with which activities are developed. In this context, Health Education - understood as an educational process of knowledge building with individuals and communities, which aims at reflection and action to improve health conditions and lifestyles - and Permanent Health Education - understood as actions aimed at professional qualification, based on the problematization of the health work process and aimed at transforming work practices, organization and results, taking as reference the health needs of people and social groups. - are areas of knowledge and practice necessary and in tune with the mission of the university and the implementation of social policies aimed at guaranteeing rights and promoting citizenship. The Nucleus of Health Education (NES) is characterized as a multidimensional nucleus and its purpose is to develop and articulate teaching, extension and research activities focused on Health Education among the population and the process of Training and Permanent Education in Health. with several professionals, with a view to health promotion, qualification of training and professional performance and social development.
