Graduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology
The Graduate Program in Molecular and Cellular Biology aims to promote the advancement of scientific knowledge by training human resources for teaching and professional activities, producing knowledge in the field of Biological Sciences in the following specialties: Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, Genetics, Pharmacology, Immunology, and Radiobiology.
The Program's vision is to be a center of excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in Biological Sciences , with scientific projection and establishment of the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO) in the biomedical sciences area for understanding the mechanisms of action of human pathological conditions, as well as their potential therapeutic approaches and clinical and epidemiological management.
Objectives:
- Deepen and advance research in the Program's areas of interest, producing knowledge fromx different theoretical-methodological approaches;
- Conduct research with interinstitutional teams, including international ones, enabling the advancement of knowledge in the Program's areas of interest at regional, national, and international levels;
- Link the Program's research, creating an integrated critical body.
